DESCRIPTION:The Chuck Cooper is hosting a Centennial Gala\, honoring the 100th birthday of Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Chuck Cooper\, a proud son of Pittsburgh who broke barriers nationally in the NBA and continued to break barriers here in Pittsburgh.\n\nThis Centennial year also coincides with the 75th anniversary of the NBA Pioneers\, recognizing Chuck Cooper\, Nat Sweetwater Clifton\, and Earl Lloyd\, and the launch of the first annual NBA Pioneers Game\, a league-wide tribute that will honor these trailblazers every season\, similar to how Major League Baseball annually recognizes Jackie Robinson. This rare moment allows us to celebrate a pioneering figure whose legacy continues to shape communities and inspire future generations.\n\nYour support helps make this Centennial celebration possible and directly supports internships\, leadership development\, and outreach programs.
